Remembering Mr. D

Caleigh Fotiades

Newton Country Day is suffering from another loss, the loss of the beloved Mr. D. After Ms. Val left our faculty, students were upset that the person who would take her place would not be as kind and loving as she was. Luckily, we were all wrong. Mr. D was all that and more. He took action when people had suggestions for the dining hall and he always grabbed extra ketchup when it was used within the first five minutes of a lunch period. Aside from making my day at lunch every day, most importantly, he was a friend to all. He put a lot of hard work into making our school a better place. His hardworking and persistent attitude made him a great asset to the faculty team.

He was a great gift to our community. As much as it hurts to say goodbye to someone we love, we know he will do great things and follow his passions. We wish him the best and hope that he continues to be his happy loving self.
